Schoenmakerij Bas upgrades its workshop with two complete machine lines.
Schoenmakerij Bas has been located at the entrance to Oosterhof Shopping Centre in Boxtel for around 35 years. The stylishly renovated shop, with industrial features such as the large lights above the counter, reflects the careful thought and attention to detail that goes into every aspect of the business. Speaking with owner Bas Geurts, you immediately sense his passion for the trade, combined with the typical Brabant warmth and hospitality. Bas is therefore selective when recruiting new staff. Each team member is a skilled professional with their own area of expertise. This has certainly paid off, with an increasing number of customers, including many from outside Boxtel, finding their way to the shop for repairs to often high-quality, expensive footwear. Its location just outside the town centre, with plenty of free parking nearby, is therefore ideal.
There had been plans for some time to modernise his ageing machinery, but repeated delays to the renovation of the shopping centre caused Bas to postpone his investment time and again. Bas Geurts, who took over the business from his parents in 1988, eventually decided that, due to the increasing workload, the time had come to replace his old machines. Bas gathered information from several machinery suppliers and ultimately became fully convinced that Jos America was the right company to work with. Bas has replaced his old machinery with two complete new Flexam machine lines. Both height-adjustable machine lines, consisting of a pre-sanding unit, press, finishing and polishing section, are connected to a V80 Compact All in One dust extraction system. Because this powerful extraction system is also exceptionally quiet, it can be installed in the same working area. Bas repairs a large number of hiking and walking boots, which is why choosing the Flexam Dynamic SW95 with a Widia roller was a particularly good choice. According to Bas, it allows old soles to be removed quickly and efficiently.
